Chapter 6

by Loup Garou & X-Treme

After dinner, Remy LeBeau walked down the hall, to his room, to pack a few things for the trip to Massachusetts. He knew that Warren Worthington was doing the same. This irritated Remy. He'd just

proposed to the woman he loved, Rogue...*Aurora*, He'd have to get used to calling her that. Now he would have to spend three days away from her.

Along the way to his room, Remy came across Marrow. He still couldn't get used to her new look. Just a few weeks ago she'd been an ugly girl with sharp bone protrusions all over her body. Then an imitation Shi'ar

medical device transformed her into a beautiful girl, after being injured when the Cajun accidentally hit her with a charged card.

"Hello Petite. Didn't see you at dinner." He smiled brightly.

"Wasn't hungry. Hear you're gonna be gone for a couple of days. Where you goin'?"

"To de school in Mass'chusetts. Wanna come?"

"I don't think so, sounds boring. I'd much rather torture the wind-rider."

"Yeah, y'right. Nothin' int'restin' about dozens of handsome guys, y'own age." A smirk crossed Remy's face.

"Dozens? Um... Well, maybe I can learn something at this school after all." Remy smiled. "Well den, you better go pack, huh? We leave in an hour." Sarah bounded away to her room, and Remy entered his own.

Logan stood inside the underground hanger, at the entrance to the alien craft. "Where the hell are they?" Logan growled. It's time to leave."

"I don't know," Bishop replied.

"You lookin' for us?" Warren asked as he entered the hanger with Carl Wellington following behind him. A moment later, Gambit walked in with Rogue on his arm. Neither looked very happy. Marrow followed close

behind.

"Hey Blondie," Logan called. "Still no sign of Bets?"

"No," Warren replied. "I'm starting to get a little worried."

"Well, don't be," Logan commented, as they prepared for take off. Rogue gave Remy a final kiss before leaving the craft. "That's one lady that can take care of herself."

Psylock regained consciousness, and found herself laying in a puddle of mud. Her shoulders throbbed, and her face was so swelled from the beating she received that she could barely open her eyes.

"Well, Well, Sleeping Beauty is awake," a female voice said from above her. A hand grabbed her hair and pulled her head out of the mud. First thing she noticed was that dusk was quickly approaching.

Through the slits of her swelled eyes, Psylock also saw the X-Men's Mansion from the cover of near by trees. "What...? How...?" She managed to croak.

"Don't you remember those wonderful codes you gave us? They opened SO much information for us," the female voice said smugly.

Tears began to flow from her eyes, that had nothing to do with physical pain. *What have I done,* she thought, *I've betrayed them all.... betrayed Warren.*

Suddenly her face was dropped back into the mud. "Pathetic," she heard a man say. Psylock thought it was the man who'd questioned her earlier.

Psylock tried to reach out with her mind, but there was nothing there. She quickly had a reason why.

"Are the Psi-dampeners in position?" the man asked.

"Yes, sir," replied a subordinate.

"Excellent," Thomas, of the New York Thieves Guild, finished.

All's going according to plan. Each group knew their assignment. The information they'd received on disc made this raid far too easy. The Xavier protocols: information on how to bring down all of the X-Men should they ever turn Rogue.

Information that the thieves guild would use tonight.

There was other information on that disc as well. There were more layers of encryption, which they were unable to decipher. The secrets behind that encryption must be great to warrant such security. And Thomas wanted it.

"Prepare yourselves," he told his men. "We go in half an hour."

Comin' up on the school," Logan growled. "Cloaking device initiated."

"Great," Remy and Warren said in unison.

"Aww...Come on, guys. This'll be fun," Marrow said cheerfully.

"Yeah, sure, Sarah," Remy said, and smiled.

"It's pretty late, so I don't think any of the normal students'll be out. Even so, I'm gonna land in those woods across the yard."

Several minutes later, the three X-Men and Carl were walking towards the main building. The companions walked up the stairs to the front door, and Warren knocked.

A student with gray skin greeted them. "Hello, Angelo," Warren said.

"Welcome, amigo," Angelo replied in greeting. "Come on in, we've been expecting you. How was the....?" Anglo's question died as his eyes fell on Sarah. Aye Caramba!" He said quietly. Sarah blushed uncharacteristically.

They entered the school building, and were greeted by the rest of Generation-X and several other students. The boys flocked around Marrow, showering her with attention. Anglo was pushed to the side, and Sarah was dragged to the couch by a dozen handsome boys, to the surprise of several girls in the room.

Emma Frost walked into the living area, from her office to the side. "Ahh... gentlemen, I wish to speak with you in my office."

Sarah was so surprised by the actions of all these guys, that she didn't know what to do. They were all talking, trying to grab her attention. She looked over her shoulder, and saw a sad looking Angelo Espinoza standing alone.

She got up from the couch, politely excusing herself, and walked over to the dejected mutant.

"Hiya, Wanna go for a walk?" They exited the building and left a dozen guys wondering what Angelo had that they didn't.

Emma Frost sat behind her desk while Remy and Warren sat in front of it. "Don't get comfortable, this will take only a moment. I don't need telepathy to know that you don't want me here anymore that I want you here, but one learns not to question Xavier's decisions."

"Right," Remy replied simply.

"As I'm sure you are aware, the school now has normal students. Which means you'll have to instruct Generation-X secretly. Is that clear?"

"Crystal," Warren replied.

"Good," Emma said, apparently satisfied.

Charles Xavier lay in his bed. His beloved Lilandra lay on top of him. They were breathing hard, and sweat covered their bodies.

Yes, he sent telepathically.

Hmm…? She sent back.

Yes, Xavier sent again. I want you to have my child.

Lilandra yelped in happy surprise, and kissed Xavier passionately.

I love you. Xavier sent, but found nothing there. Charles broke off the kiss. "Something's wrong." He said aloud.

Suddenly, the door flew open, and several men burst in.

Xavier had just enough time to throw Lilandra off the bed, where she picked up the image inducer and flicked it on. Xavier tried to call out telepathically, to psionically control his attackers, but there was noone there.

Rogue sat in the rec. room watching t.v. She held up her hand and looked at the engagement ring for the millionth time. She thought about going to bed, but was to keyed up. Rogue doubted she'd get any sleep at

all until Remy was back in her arms. He'd only been gone for a couple of hours but it seemed like forever.

Without warning, two arms reached around her throat and she felt something click into place. She jumped up and spun around. Three men, dressed all in black, stood there. She tried to fly, but nothing happened. She felt around her throat and discovered an inhibitor collar.

"All too easy," the leader said. And the three men jumped her.

Jean Grey was in the boathouse, preparing for bed. Her husband, Scott, was in the mansion, discussing with Hank the best way to go about searching for Betsy. She could tell through their telepathic link that they were nearly done.

She was just climbing into bed when their link was broken. Scott was gone from her mind. Panic was threatening to overcome Jean, but she fought it down. Jean grabbed her coat, and headed for the mansion, but

was greeted by several men in black skin suits.

Rogue was taken to the foyer of the mansion. Already there, was the professor, Storm and a woman that she didn't recognize. All were naked. Her captors sat her down beside the other three. Several minutes later,

Scott and hank were brought in. Everyone wore inhibitor collars.

Just as Scott and Hank were sat down several more men entered the mansion. One of them was carrying Betsy. She looked like she was in bad shape.

"I'm sure you're wondering what we're doing here," a man said. Rogue took him to be the leader. "Let's just say that you have information I want. And as your friend, Elizabeth, can attest. I'll do anything to get it."

Sarah and Angelo were walking the grounds, talking about nothing in particular, but looking up at the stars. Sarah marveled at their beauty. She'd never truly looked at the stars before joining the X-Men. As a child, Sarah couldn't see the stars from the Morlock Tunnels beneath the city. And the dimension where she grew up had no stars…had no beauty at all.

Sarah told Angelo all that she was thinking. But Angelo was, at that moment, entranced by a different source of beauty. It was hard for him to believe that such a gorgeous you woman would be walking with him, and holding his hand.

Needless to say, it was very disappointing for both of them, when Sarah received a telepathic distress call.

Remy LeBeau had changed into his sweat pants, and was about to get in bed, when he heard Jean Grey's telepathic call.

X-Men, we have an emergency.

Jeanie…? Gambit began, and was interrupted by Logan

Jean, he began. What's wrong, darlin'? What's happening?

The mansion's been attacked. I think I'm the only one to get out…Just barely.

Figures, just when I'm having fun. Marrow pouted.

Hush, Sarah. Do you know who they are? Warren inquired.

No, but whoever they are, they're very good. They're able to block my psionics. I had to get away from the mansion in order to get a hold of you.

We're on our way, Jean. Stay where you are. We'll be there in an hour. Bishop said.

Generation X is at your service if you need us. Emma Frost added.

Thank you, Emma. Jean said, gratefully

All right, people, dress for action. Said Logan. We're on our way.

An hour later, the remaining X-Men, along with Generation X, stood together in the woods a few hundred yards from the mansion.

"We're going to need a distraction, and a small group to get the others out."

"We should be trying to take back the mansion." Marrow protested.

"Wrong, De X-Men are de first priority. We need to get dem out. Den we decide on how to get de mansion back." Gambit replied.

"We're going to need someone to crash the computer system." Archangel suggested. "We don't want them getting their hands on anything important."

"Agreed, Who goes?" Jean asked.

"What about Carl?" Warren suggested. "He was a thief. He can get in and out."

"I'll go with him." Logan said. "The Cajun goes in after the others. The rest of you make some noise."

After an hour of torture, Scott lay broken and bleeding. Storm sat in silent resolve, while Rogue was clearly outraged.

Charles Xavier had remained silent.

Ororo Monroe knew that it was killing Xavier to watch Scott being beaten. Cyclops was the first X-Man. And the closest thing Xavier had to a son.

When Xavier had not given the codes, Belladonna had ordered Scott's death.

Now a man walked toward Scott with a knife, intent on cutting his throat.

Xavier gazed at Lilandra. A tear streamed down his face. "Wait," he cried. "I'm sorry," he lipped, silently, to Lilandra, and proceeded to give the encryption codes to the thieves guild.

Thomas stood with Belle Donna in the Warroom, staring at a computer screen.

The information released by the new codes was astonishing. The disk held details on an entire alien race. Schematics on incredible technology were present.

There were also details, personal and professional, about the Shi'ar leader, the Majestrix, Lilandra.

Apparently, Xavier was the consort, and lover of the Majestrix. This was very interesting.

With the technology on this disk, he could overthrow the clan LeBeau, and take over the guild. But why stop there?

With an alien fleet, at his command, he could take the world. No, the entire galaxy. All he had to do was get his hands on Lilandra.

Take Xavier and the woman he was with to another room. Keep them separated from the others. Perhaps they can bring us Lilandra Neramani.
